About the event

Based on the work of Gianni Rodari, this bittersweet fable is set in the Befana's toy shop. Its window is full of beautiful toys that many children can only look at. One of them is Francesco, who loves the toy train Freccia Azzurra and watches it whenever he passes the shop on his way to school or work.

The toys decide to follow their heart, leave the shop and set out to change the rules. The world outside, ruled by snow and wind, is dangerous and mirrors an unjust world of individualism and social differences. On the way, the toys learn to value solidarity, friendship and hope. The Befana and her scatterbrained servant Terenzio chase them while they try to find Francesco and give themselves to him.

The night-time adventure blurs the line between the human and the inanimate. On stage it is told through actors, coloured silhouettes and shadows.
