About the event

Palmiro, a printer on the verge of bankruptcy and a man of firm political faith, lives in a council flat registered to his parents, who died years ago. He shares it with his only employee, a Hungarian woman he is secretly in love with. He lets her stay in place of the severance pay she is owed.

When he is served an eviction notice because the flat is being given to a Roma family, he ends up at the centre of a political dispute. Social centres want him out. Neo-fascists defend him for their own purposes, in return for ideological support. His certainties are put to a hard test.

Antonio Cornacchione has written a funny but rough, politically incorrect farce. It has some echoes of the most 'comically engaged' period of Dario Fo's theatre. Pino Quartullo, described as histrionic, performs alongside him on stage.
