About the event

"Pillole di me" ("Pills of me") is a comic memoir written and performed by Alessandro Benvenuti. It is a mix of comic pieces, some acted and some read aloud, in which he talks about the fun he has found in living a life built on comedy.

Benvenuti describes the pieces as small pills that protect the brain and its cousin, the soul, from the ugliness of everyday existence. He says he could have called the show "cavalli di battaglia" (signature pieces), the way many colleagues name a recital of their best-known monologues, but chose not to, since there are already too many battles in the world today.

He calls the pills made of lively, natural herbs grown in the vegetable gardens of his own home, and hopes they offer some relief to anyone who wants to take them for an evening.

Production: Compagnia Umberto Orsini SRL.
