About the event
From 11 October to 5 November 2026 the Museo Ugo Guidi in Forte dei Marmi hosts "Omaggio a Mario Marcucci", in collaboration with the Associazione Amici di Mario Marcucci of Viareggio.
The show presents a selection of works from the Marcucci Archive, some of them unpublished. They convey an artist devoted entirely to painting, described as a kind of uninterrupted diary, made with every kind of material, even the humblest.
The exhibition also aims to link the Museo Ugo Guidi with the Museo del Quarto Platano, and invites visitors to see both museums in Forte dei Marmi to rediscover a central, if neglected, figure of Italian painting.
The opening is on Sunday 11 October at 17:00. Paolo Antognoli gives a critical presentation in dialogue with Luigi Lazzerini, with testimonies from the president Adolfo Lippi, Ireno Francesconi and Enrico Salvadori.

About Forte dei Marmi
Forte dei Marmi takes its name from the small fort in Piazza Garibaldi, completed in 1788 under Grand Duke Peter Leopold to guard the beach where marble from the Apuan Alps was stored and shipped. The town belonged to Pietrasanta until 26 April 1914, when it became a comune of its own.
